Writing for the socialist
We are after brief reports on either personal, workplace or trade union branch
opinions on Brown’s proposal for under-inflation 3-year pay deals. We want
to reflect the anger of workers on this latest attack on pay. Please ask any
public sector workers if they would like to write something.
Also, we are looking for more articles on various aspects of building and campaigning
work on socialist issues, e.g. ‘how to run a successful campaign’,
a victory against cuts in jobs or local services, against Post Office closures,
etc. Please send all articles to editors@socialistparty.org.uk
Selling "the socialist" newspaper and organising
the Fighting Fund
Well done for the hard work in 2007 and particularly for the last quarter,
which raised well over £30,000. Discuss the ighting fund as an item of
business at your next branch meeting and plan out your campaigns. In addition
to your
Saturday newspaper sales, you could try at least one other aper sale a week.
Try a Friday sale outside the local train or bus station or a lunchtime stall
in the town centre when workers. Set a target for how much money you are going
to raise and papers you will sell and try and reach it. There will be a national
finance appeal at the National Congress on 8-10 March to raise resources to
cover all our campaigning activities.
